Join a Fortune 500 SaaS company as a Data Centre Operations Engineer on their Service Engineering team, which is responsible for global infrastructure design, standards, operations and architecture. This role is based at a dedicated data centre facility in Mascot, NSW and focuses on the day-to-day operation and reliability of critical infrastructure.
What you’ll be doing
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of data centres, ensuring smooth functioning of critical infrastructure
- Maintain facility stock and support general operational uptime and maintenance scheduling
- Participate in new data centre builds and deployments
- Install pre-integrated racks, individual servers and network appliances, including racking, stacking, wiring and cable management
- Troubleshoot rack-level events within internal Service-Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Perform hardware break-fix on servers and network appliances
- Act as the primary point of contact and be accountable for all vendors operating inside the data centres
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
- Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies
- Perform regular audits as required
- Install, monitor and maintain data centre IT equipment
- Coordinate onsite delivery and shipping of all equipment
- Contribute to documentation and help promote standards and best practices for data centre operations
- Be available for 24/7 support as needed, including off-hours work for scheduled maintenance, emergencies and on-call situations

Skills & requirements
- Relevant data centre certifications and/or equivalent professional experience
- 1+ years of experience in data centre operations and/or facility operations
- Fundamental understanding of network devices and server hardware architecture
- Openness to domestic and international travel
- Strong communication, customer focus, problem-solving, conflict management, time management and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to ongoing professional development, skill enhancement and required on-the-job training
